Thread: Database Comparision

    I have two databases one on Oracle8 and One on SQL Server7 both on NT platform.

    I need to compare if both databases have same number of tables and views and also same number of rows in each table. each database has over 800 tables.

    Is there a tool available in the market that can compre databases.

    Try to bring that SQL Server database to one of Oracle Test Instance and use OEM 'db diff' for both of the databases.

    Not a great solution. Just an Idea..

    I know that there are outside tools available for this, but normally pretty expensive. Platinum has tools that can view, compare etc dbs of different types and on different platforms.

    TOAD does it but not sure if it can see SQL server but worth a look into.
