after install 9iAS and portal30
i have problem to access it.
i can actually use http://machine-name:<port>/pls/portal30/admin_/gateway.html
to access gateway.htm page.
but when i access home, it ask me username
and password, i tried portal30/portal30don't work.
but i can use portal30/portal30 to access database through
sqlplus.

the error message it gives me is
Database Log In Failed
An invalid username/password caused log in to database fail.
Verify that the username/password you provided is correct.

it is strange.

Check that your connecting using the correct (default) DAD.
I believe there was also a thread for this problem on
metalink.oracle.com

I have similar problem.
I can also can actually use http://machine-name:/pls/portal30/admin_/gateway.html
to access gateway.htm page.

I checked both 9iAS side and client side,
portal30/portal30@MY_SID work fine!

But when I use web
http://machine_name:80/pls/simpledad
it gave me:
Proxy log On failed.
Please verify that you have specified correct connectivity information i.e.username, password & connect-string in the Database Access Descriptor
Error-Code:12154
Error TimeStamp:Wed, 14 Feb 2001 18:34:59 GMT
Database Log In Failed
TNS could not resolve service name

Verify that the TNS name in the connectstring entry of the DAD for this URL is valid.

Looks like not too many DBAs working
9iAS.

Even Oracle supports are not good enough IMHO
Sometimes, it took me more than a week to get an
answer. And most of the time, they do not know the
answer(s) either!
