How to attach datafiles from one db to another

If I need just to copy datafiles from one db to another and 'attach' them into target db, should I go on using TTS(Transportable Tabslespaces) option?

I think you can't just copy the datafile to another database yet, so Transportable Tablespace is your only option.

And that is the logical option because you don't want to copy just one datafile if a table underneath that is spanned across multiple datafiles in that tablespace.
