Hi
I have a pretty big table of 60 columns and other 2 smaller tables with 10 columns each. In these two small tables, the data are already stored in the big table of 60 columns, the reason is to avoid two small tables joins in some queries. The use of small tables is also to serve some queries that only requires 7 or 8 columns. Is this a good idea or simply have a huge table? Normalized.

Hi,
If the data which is in these two small tables is already stored in the large table then you are having unnecessary duplication. If you have proper indexes on the large table then the data extraction should not be a problem.
You have to strike a balance between too much normalization Vs data duplication.

Usage of views for those two tables isn't good idea pando ? Any specific reason having two small tables instead of views ?

Instead of two small tables you should use two views.
Or you should drop redundant columns from big table.
With good indexes you can solve problem with speed.
This is a faster and more economic solution of this problem.
