    what is the difference btw distinct and unique in sqlplus

    these two keywords are synonymous I guess.

    In a SELECT statement they are synonym:
    SELECT DISTICT job FROM EMP;
    SELECT UNIQUE job FROM EMP;

    But only in a select statement, you dont have distinct indexes.
