    Hi if the
    DB_BLOCK_SIZE is not specified in the initialization parameter file, does that mean that it will default to 8k?

    I am running 8i on solaris

    When creating a database manually, you must/should specify the following params before starting the instance...

    db_name
    control_files
    db_block_size

    Tami,

    Thats true with old versions. Iam not sure with 8i and its more OS dependent. They stopped defaulting to 2k in 8i I guess. I never tried. Are you sure ?
