    New to Oracle Database Administration

I am moving in my career over from multiple decades of software development to Database Administration & Development. Currently, I am using Oracle 11g (11.2.0.3.0) at my place of employment.
(currently no training budget $$ available)

To the seasoned DBA's in this forum:
I have been using "Oracle 11g The Complete Reference" for a couple weeks now. I would like to know if there additional reference books you would recommend for proper learning and getting started on the right foot with Oracle. I am also looking for books that teach "best practices".

    Thanks.

There is no better place to start than here.
It is also free and free is good. You should also take a look at PL/SQL Best Practices by Steven Feuerstein. The pdf is available online.
