MySQL database (5.0) will not start up
The data is held in a single large file named ibdata1, and the file
seems to have grown too large. This database is held on a Windows 2003
Server. I need someone to tell me how to extract the data from the
large datafile without starting the database OR extend the allowed size
for the file on Windows so that I can start db.
Starting the db from a command window, I get:
>> CMD window >>
C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin>mysql
ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'
(10061)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
error file is found at bottom of file
C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\data\PARADIGM.err

See below short guide for repairing MySQL databases after corruption…
mysqlcheck -u root -p --auto-repair --check --optimize --all-databases
You must supply the password when asked,
Or you can run this one but it's not recommended because the password is written in clear text:
mysqlcheck -u root --password=THEPASSWORD --auto-repair --check --optimize --all-databases
