    ORA-00445: background process "q00O" did not start after 120 seconds

    Hello,

    While running database backup , backup team found that they could not connect to the database. When checked from my side I found following error in the database alert log file.
    Also Attached trace file for your reference.

    ORA-00445: background process "q00O" did not start after 120 seconds

    PMON failed to acquire latch, see PMON dump

    Wed Sep 24 08:03:41 2014
    Errors in file /opt/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/ecms01/ECMS01/trace/ECMS01_qmnc_4240.trc (incident=181102):
    ORA-00445: background process "q00P" did not start after 120 seconds

    Please help me to fix this error.

    --Could not upload trace file. Its giving error

    Where you able to open the trace file yourself?

    Are all rights on the executables correctly set?
    Did you recently have a crash on the database?
    Did you check if you have the right environment parameters like for instance $ORACLE_HOME?
