There is a downgrade process ( http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle8i/doc_library/817_doc/server.817/a86632/migdowng.htm#15124 ). I have used it a couple of times and always ended up with a corrupt data dictionary. Any other experiences?

You will be OK untill you don't use any of 81x features. Just nightmares if you try bringing 81x database to 8x with 81x features.

See and fine right metalink doc or do with Oracle Support guidence. I mean lot people might have not experienced this situation to suggest you.

Hi:

I am downgrading from 8.1.5 to 8.0.5, do I need to run script like catlg803.sql for 805
because I don't see any script like catlg805.sql.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

Copy the following files from the ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin directory to a directory outside of Oracle home,
such as the temporary directory on your system:

catlg803.sql (if you are downgrading to release 8.0.3)

utlip.sql

utlrp.sql
