What do you mean you don't have login.sql? You mean it wasn't created during instalation? Are you looking in right directories?
If it realy wasn't created during instalation you could simply create it manualy, just make sure you are putting it into right directory (or to put it in other words: make sure your environment variable SQLPATH points to that directory). In my instalation on NT the location of login.sql is in %ORACLE_HOME%\DBS, while glogin.sql is in %ORACLE_HOME%\SQLPLUS\ADMIN

Hi,
If u're using Oracle 8i client then u do have login.sql. If u're not using them then try out glogin.sql. you can set up some commands in here but frankly i've not used them.
Do let me knwo if it is useful for u.
The "login.sql" file, may be placed in each (or only) directory that is your work directory...this is a similar "profile". Is useful if you have to put everytime.. linesize, pagesize, pause ..etc
