    trace file not found - No such file or directory

    Hi,

    Database alert log shows one trace file for diag in bdump directory.

    But when i do ls -l filename or ls -a, it displays "No such file or directory".

    How this strange thing is happening? Please advise.

    Iam logging as oracle user, then going to bdump directory to search the file same as the path shown in alert log file.

    As advise by you, how to perform this test, please give example.

    thanks,

    Cool

    Iris,
    Mr davey23uk is requesting you copy and paste: 1) the section of the alert log that contains the error and the name of the trace file and 2) copy and paste whatever you are typing in your session.
    I would add you also provide the Oracle version number: login to the database, execute this query and post the results.
    Code:
    SELECT * FROM V$VERSION;

    PS: Depending on your Oracle version, you may want to look under the "trace" directory instead of bdump.
