Should Oracle Home and GRID home be shared ..?

Hi,

My environment is Oracle 11g release 2 RAC setup with Red Hat Linux 5.5. I am planning to setup two node RAC, with ASM setup.

For Oracle home and the grid infracture home, should I use the shared home or local home..?

If I go for local home and shared home, how is the installation procedure is different for each case..?

Any good document is there on this..?

By grid home do you mean CRS home? CRS and Oracle home has to be separate. For Oracle homes use separate local homes, this will allow to do rolling upgrades/patching in future.
