Oracle9i DBCA Installation failed
I installed Oracle 9.0.1.0 in the windows XP, i found DBCA failed. My system configuration is P4,2.80GHz,1.49GB RAM, C:drive has 5.9 GB free space and D: drive has 13.3GB free space. kindly some one help this regard.

What can you see in the installation log?
Any particular reason to install Ora9i when Ora11gR2 is a stable platform?

If its a Pentium 4, years ago there was a bug with running dbca on a pentium 4. You should google the bug. You need tochange the JRE settings, but I don't remember the details.
You should really try 11.2.0.3 on a more current chip and OS.

It was the Symantec just-in-time compiler (JIT) version that had to be switched out or updated. It was something like:
1. Create a temporary directory on your server.
2. Copy the entire contents of the Oracle RDBMS Server CD to the temporary directory created in step 1.
3. Search the directory structure created in Step 1 for the existence of the filename symcjit.dll.
4. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old (I think there were 2 copies, not sure anymore).
5. Run the setup.exe from the install\win32 directory (under the directory on your hard disk used in Step 1).

You are correct Stecal, there was also an .ini file that needed to be changed. But definitely rename the two copies of symcjit.dll.
