    Standby Modes

    Hi,

    I have initialized the log_archive_dest_2 parameter as follows in Primary DB parameter file.

    log_archive_dest_2='service=testdb_standby LGWR SYNC AFFIRM'

    When i query
    sql>select protection_mode from v$database;
    The result is maximum performance.

    My question is:
    LGWR SYNC AFFIRM is for maximum protection, then why my database is showing as configured as maximum performance.

    thanks,

    So, is this ok for Maximum Performance Mode.

    As mentioned earlier I have set the parameter as:

    log_archive_dest_2='service=testdb_standby LGWR SYNC AFFIRM'

    My objective is to have DataGuard in Maximum Performance Mode, does the above parameter ok for it by not creating standby logs?

    Thanks,
