    forgot sys password

    I can login to my oracle 10.2 server by scott user, but I forgot sys password.
    How can I reset sys password ?
    I have scott/tigger , but I could not alter scott user to reset sys password.

    did you change the sys password after Install? what is your OS? check if OS authentication (conn '/as sysdba') possible.

    You can also use the orapwd program to recreate you password file.
