Thread: Standard Edition vs Enterprise Edition ??

    Question

    How can I determine if the Edition of Oracle 8.0.5 that is iinstalled is Standard or Enterprise?

    Login thru Sql plus and check the the first few lines before the prompt. It might say it there.

    Version 8.0.5 doesn't announce what edition it is in SQL*Plus.
    I also tried v$version and doesn't say either.

    I guess, if it doesn't say explicitly as "Enterprise Edition", its standard edition.

    If its an Enterprose Edition, you would see output similar to the one listed by Jeff, else without the "Enterprise Edition " on the first line.
