Oracle 8.0.5 on windows 2000 server.

    Dear all,

Last month, we have lost our server due to HDD failure and I have setup a new server:

    Windows 2000 Server,
    Oracle 8.0.5.

We have third party ERP system and I have restored the Schema as per vendor's manual,

the problem is The system is running very slow on client as well as on server.

what steps should I take to run it fast?

My DB file size is More than 2 GB.

    Pls help.

    Thanks.

Install on a faster server with at least quad cpu and lots of memory.

    Oracle 8 and Windows 2000 in 2013.

Have you ANALYZED all tables?. Is it even using Cost Based Optimizer?

He is probably using the rule based optimizer, which means that he should delete stats, not create stats. I would check to see what the init file settings are and make sure that there is enough there is a large enough SGA. He should also verify that there is a temp file.
