Fregmentation
Hi,
I read in one document, for defregmenting a table we can use below steps.
1. alter table move
2. exp/imp
3. CTAS
Can any one please expalin what is the difference between above 3..?

did you read the docs to see what they do? - they all do very different things
also I bet you do not have fragmentation

In the doc, they listed only these 3 but didnt explained.
If you get a chance then can you please explain.

Those are not "steps" but "alternatives" to defrag a table.
First one will defrag by moving the segment.
Second one will defrag by exporting and importing the segment.
Third one will defrag by creating a new table.

I agree, these three are the alternatives for doing defragmentation.
But for same purpose why we require three alternatives..?
If we have more than one then each should be having its own advantages and disadvantages.
I surfed, but didnt get proper adv and disv...!
