    DBMS_Stats

    Hi,
Can any one please tell me how we can know the estimated time for a stats gathering job.

Assume if table size is 1 GB, then how long it will take..?

Any specific views are there to find the totale time..?

    Regards,

As it usually happens in the dba world - it depends.

In this case it depends on what kind of statistics are you gathering, which options have you selected, the size of the base table and the number and complexity of indexes as well as the available cpu power and degree of parallelism you decide to use.

Having said that, for a 1 Gig table no matter what you do it should complete real fast, you should target under a minute completion time.
