    database shutdown and error in alertlog

    Hi all,

    Can you please guide me. It has started since two days getting error in alert log. Also databse shutdown by itself at night. Then i have to restart it ever morning since two days: here is the text from Alertlog file:

    Other instances running on same box?

    Either way, ask sysadmin to check status of file /LOcation/DBISNTANCE/oradata/DBISNTANCE_redo02.log

    yes there are but that has it's own separat location for the file location!

    well something is messing with that file, the error is clear

    Hi,

    I see the stale status on that file.. how can i remove that status!!!!

    look at the error

    some process has the file open - find that process and sort it out
