installing with a response file
I am trying to install Oracle 11g with a response file in silent mode since
I don't have a working X windows env.
When I run the following command. I get this error:
$ ./runInstaller -silent -noconfig -responseFile `pwd`/db_install.rsp

Your platform requires the root user to perform certain pre-installation
OS preparation. The root user should run the shell script 'rootpre.sh' before
you proceed with Oracle installation. rootpre.sh can be found at the top level
of the CD or the stage area.
Answer 'y' if root has run 'rootpre.sh' so you can proceed with Oracle
installation.
Answer 'n' to abort installation and then ask root to run 'rootpre.sh'.

am I failing on email addresses for starter databases? Does anybody
have a simple .rsp file that works that I can use as a template.

Software only anyone?
Change this option to install software only:
Code:
#-- etc ---
SECURITY_UPDATES_VIA_MYORACLESUPPORT=false
#-- ...
DECLINE_SECURITY_UPDATES=true
#-- etc ---

Thanks, that got me passed my error. Still dealing with system resource issues and OS patch levels.
