number of PROCESSES in ASM instance
The default number of processes for ASM that Oracle used is 350, I am trying to set up the Monitoring Template for ASM and noticed that PROCESSES is not on the list. does it mean that the number of process in ASM can NEVER go exceed 350 so that Oracle don't care to monitor it for ASM?
I am not an expert in ASM and I have hard time to put together the reasoning why Oracle did it.
Thanks

Here is my take - correct me if I'm wrong.
PROCESSES parameter value represents the max number of O/S simultaneous processes allowed to connect to the affected instance; this value is related to the value of SESSIONS and TRANSACTIONS parameters - are we in agreement here?
ASM instances are not technically database instances - even Oracle tells you that when you look at INSTANCE_TYPE parameter.
ASM instances are not supposed to get user connections - Oracle knows what is doing therefore I wouldn't waste my time checking number of processes in an ASM instance.
