New Sun Solaris Machine..

Hi :
Can anyone tell me, what do we need to set up a new solaris machine E220/420.. I need to set up the system and ultimately insatll and run oracle server..

Refer Oracle installation guide for sun Solaris .

Below are the steps briefly .

1. Install solaris and make filesystems or row partions .
2. create a dba group and oracle user in solaris .

You can use solaris admintool or useradd and groupadd cammand for this .

3. Make entry for shared memmory parameters in /etc/system and reboot the machine .

4. Mount the oracle cdrom , login as oracle user and start install .
