    Hi Guys
    I need your help resolving this issue please.
    I have create a standby database that has issue appling log from primary to standby. The issue was related to the controlfile so I have recreated the standby controlfile.

    Standby database was mounted
    SQL>alter database mount standby database;
    database altered.

    NOW
    Logs are shippped but not applied and alert log is showing the following error:

    ORA-19909: datafile 1 belongs to an orphan incarnation
    ORA-01110: data file 1: '/opt/app/p5m2d2/oradata01/PS21DM/dbf/system_01.dbf'

    SQL> recover standby database using backup controlfile until cancel;
    ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors
    ORA-19909: datafile 1 belongs to an orphan incarnation
    ORA-01110: data file 1:
    '/opt/app/p5m2d2/oradata01/PS21DM/dbf/system_01.dbf'

    Any help is appreciated.
