    .BKP file format (RMAN)

    Hi,

    Can somebody help me getting .BKP file format ?

    Is RMAN uses the normal BZIP2 library to compress data to form BKP file ?
    (The reason I am asking is because, I did not find bzip2 header or trailer in the entire 210 MB bkp files I have. I did set compression algorithm to be used to bzip2)

    if the compatible parameter is set to 11.1 or newer, ZILB will be the default compression algorithm.

    if you want to compress in BZIP2 then you need to configure explicitly.

    CONFIGURE COMPRESSION ALGORITHM 'BZIP2';

    Thanks,
