    RMAN backup to Network drive from Solaris

    Hi,

    RMAN is not identifying the Network drive (or might be permissions issue) to take archive log backup. This drive is mounted in Windows 2003 server from a Solaris server. Oracle version is 10.2.0.3. Here is the error message.

    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on c2 channel at 09/08/2009 17:48:53
    ORA-19504: failed to create file "Z:\ARC_BKUP_08KOOBO4_1.RMAN"
    ORA-27040: file create error, unable to create file
    OSD-04002: unable to open file
    O/S-Error: (OS 3) The system cannot find the path specified.
    I am looking in Metalink to find something, mean time i just want to drop the post in my favorite place.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Just want to update that I have resolved this issue by following the work around provided in metalink note 145843.1
