    Problem with UTL_SMTP and TLS?

For several months we have been able to utl_smtp to gmail.com, but from last week, we now get the error
    ERROR at line 1:

ORA-20002: Failed to send mail due to the following error: ORA-29279: SMTP

permanent error: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. 6sm112889ywi.43

    ORA-06512: at "CBOT.SEND_MAIL", line 35

    ORA-06512: at line 1

We realise that you can't use utl_smtp with TLS and that gmail.com uses TLS. Therefore does anyone know of any workarounds? or any mailservers that doesn't use TLS. Thanks. Rgds. Sheryl

That's a messaging issue not an Oracle issue.
It looks like you are not alone, take a look here http://www.google.com/support/forum/...d0030ef4&hl=en
