    Autobackup problems with 10g

I am running Oracle 10g Rel 2. Going through the Enterprise Manager, I tried to set the autobackup feature to run at 2:00 am this morning.

When I checked today, I got an Alert Log Error Stack. Below is a copy of what it says:

    Starting control autobackup
Autobackup failed with the following error
    ORA-19624: operation failed, retry possible
    ORA-19504: failed to create file
    "F:\DB_BACKUP\C-2278169630-20090515-00"
    ORA-27056: could not delete file
OSD-04029: unable to get file attributes
O/S-Error: (OS-3) The system cannot find the path specified.

Now, I had checked the path myself before I even set the backups. I tried several times to get the autobackup to work without returning an error in Enterprise Manager. I thought I finally got it because the last response I got in EM was that it accepted the tasking, but then I got the errors above this morning.

Can anyone provide some insight on what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you for any help!

How about checking the file and directory permissions?

    Revz,

    Thank you for responding!

That was the first thing I did. I checked the folder permissions on multiple directories, and even added the IWAM/IUSR accounts giving them full control access. But I still received that (those?) error message(s) when I tried to set the auto backup through the enterprise manager.

    Hi Steve,

I prefer to do my backups through rman.

    rman target /

show all; # turn on autobackup of controlfile

    backup database plus archivelogs;
