Object Orientated DBA for 'normal' apps?

    Hi,

My course is starting to tech OO database design, which it seems is the future, but I'm unsure on whether an OO approach fits for your typical dynamic website.

The sites I'm making have no complex data types, but since my impression is that OO is the way forward, should I use an OO approach to develop sites, or stick with the more traditional relational design?

I'm a student, so my career path is not yet layed out, and I'm unsure whether to go for web/dev as a career or go for a full-on DBA type career.

I very much enjoy using Oracle, and consider it a technology which could provide a better income than your more typical LAMP web/dev type role.
