    one f/s or many?

    Hi,

All our data is on the SAN , stripped and mirrored.

We currently have the data on 20 filesystems. The plan is to move to just 1 large filesystem as everything is on and controlled by the SAN, it really does not matter how many filesystems we have.

Is there any disadvantages in moving to just 1 filesystem per database?

    Appreciate your feedback.

    Regards
    Jay

    Talking 3 luns

    Suggest 3 LUNS's:

    1) Admin, dumps, trace, etc..
    2) Flash-recovery, archive logs, redo-mirror.
    3) Database files.

Okay, So there is no disadvantage in having just one filesystem for datafiles.

    Thankyou.
