    We need to first look at what a backup really means

    backup is something using which you can go back to the previous state or backup is copy of the database which can be used if anything goes wrong.


    Now coming to export
    export can be useful if any table is lost it can be restored using the export file.So it is called "Logical backup"

    So if a recovery or restoration of table is possible,how can anyone say that exports are not backup?
