while importing i am facing this error,

my db is oracle9i
when i checked the character ser both are same

IMP-00077: Could not convert to server national character set's handle
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully

how can i import ?

Is the character set on both the databases is same?

You may need to set the NLS_LANG environment variable to a characterset compatible with both database characterset.
