    oracle db encryption software.

    I would like to know information about oracle encryption software like cost and reliability, how does it works...

    please provide me some info. on this if you know.

    our goal is to protect the data from hackers. we have couple of columns in bunch of tables needs to be encrypted. some tables are inventory tables. lot of processes uses the encrypted data.
    So i was planning to investigate and get some info. on encryption software.

    Any suggesions.

    Oracle 9i
    HP-UX.

    You mean manually encrypt the data with dbms_obfuscation_toolkit pkg?

    That's an alternative -if obfuscation is enough for you.

    As Dave put it, it all depends of your requirements.

    You can go from Oracle obfuscation all the way to third party packages and encryption appliances. I suppose vendors would be delighted in letting you know about pricing and features.
