When installing 8.1.6 Enterprise Edition, prompted to create a database. Used this option and it created a number of default tablespaces etc..TOOLS,INDX and DRSYS. As far as I can see only DRSYS has objects in it (tables/indexes) owned by CTXSYS. What does this schema do??? what are the tables and indexes for? Can I drop the tablespace without the database going ballistic????

If you are not gonna use Context Catridge option you can get rid of it. I would prefer to leave it just like that or drop objects and resize the datafile to < 5 blocks.

Read comments of the script thats creating this Context Catridge option which gives you little more info.
