    STATUS=ACTIVE and LAST_CAL_ET= Consistently Increasing

    We have 100 sessions open through parallel executions maigrating 7 million of customer data.

    The status of these sessions are 'ACTIVE' BUT the Last_Call_ET (the Idle Time) is increasing (see the result below). I tried to tracing (10046) the SID but the DB is not generating any trace files in udump.

    SID SERIAL# USERNAME OSUSER PROGRAM COMMAND STATUS LAST_CALL_ET
    ---------- ---------- -------------------- -------------------- ------------------------------ ---------- -------- ------------
    5463 137 MIGRATION ims oracle@uludag (P044) 6 ACTIVE 676

    Question:

    1) When last_call_et is showing a high value and increasing consistently, why does the STATUS is showing 'ACTIVE'?

    2) Is there any other way, I could see what the session is doing?

    Regards

    May be it's doing waiting for something, could be I/O wait and that's why it's increasing.

    Do you really need 100 sessions to migrate 7 Million rows? I doubt it.
    Try with single session.

    The v$sess_io is the best monitoring view to know about IO performance of the running session.
