    Cool Move the files

Just follow normal procedure to move (relocate) the data files.

    Any one of these:

    1) Backup controlfile to trace, shutdown db, move the files, change locations in the "CREATE CONTROLFILE", starup nomount, create controlfile...

    2) Alter tablespace offline, move files, alter database rename files, alter tablespace online

    3) Shuutdown database, move files, add 'DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT' to the init.ora file, ...etc...

I'm confused, if the database is really "ill-preserved" then how it is "full of data"???
