Hi,
Does anyone can help me on the Oracle (8.1.7) Creation using dbassist utility using HP_UX box - I encounter the problem during creation of the database - ORA-01034 Oracle Not Available.
Could it be the shared memory, kernel parameter set wrongly ?
Thanks.

Hi,
What are the parameters you've given in the initora file and initconfig.ora files ?

Halo,
I am not creating Oracle Database thru svrmgrl but using the dbassist utility.
Your help is very much appreciated.

Hi,
I don't think there is problem with the HP box(I hope it's HpUX 11.0), try checking the init.ora parameters. If you are capable of working without the dbassist utility using the scripts crdborcl.ora and crdb2orcl.ora then pls use them so that u can very easily identify the error which occurs. Also pls let me know the exact error which occurs during the installation. Check the log files
