Earlier today, one of my databases just stopped running without any reason. I have checked the tablespace storage, there is bags of room, any ideas what else I could check to see why this has happened, here is the extract from the alert files, by the way its 7.3.3 running on NT 4.0 :

Since it closed in normal mode, it doesn't seem like a crash.
If the database came backup without errors, then check any scheduled jobs that may be shutting down the database or it may be that your internal password has been compromised and someone has done this behind your back.

I am not seeing any reason to worry. Just restart it. It should restart. Though the reason for shutting down could be because of some scheduled script.
    Thanks

Can you post the INIT.ORA file?
