    Question Restore database

I have an active oracle 10.2 database. I take hot backups daily. In begin backup mode, I backup all datafiles, redologs and control files and archive logs. I want to restore the database to yesterday. Do I take yesterdays backup including all files(datafiles, redo, control) and do a RECOVER UNTIL CANCEL ? Do I need to use the current control file or the backed up control file ?

First and foremost, do NOT backup redo logs with a hot backup. There are not needed for recovery purposes.

Check Performing User-Managed Database Point-in-Time Recovery for all the details on performing the recovery.
