Shared storage devices compatibility with 10g RAC

    Hi,

We are planning to install Oracle 10.2.0.2 RAC cluster (with ASM) with 2 nodes
in our organization. The installation would be on Sun Solaris 10.
Also we would be upgrading it to 10.2.0.3 and then to 10.2.0.4 in future.

Is IP-SAN supported for the above setup.
Is DAS(Direct-attached storage) supported for the above setup.

    Thanks & Regards
    Arun

    Hi

    Is IP-SAN supported
    Yes

    Is Direct Attached Storage supported
Yes but its not a good idea when the node goes down the storage becomes unavailable.
You need to mount the storage on both the nodes and its should be shared

    regards

    Hi Hrishy

    Thanks for your expert comments.

Do we have any disadvantage of using IP-SAN (Other than the performance as compared to SAN).

Do we face any type of dificulties while using IP-SAN.

    Thanks & Regards
