    Oracle Backup With Veritas\rman Problem

I am having a problem with backing up my Oracle 10g instance. I have posted the Veritas log below and it appears to be an RMAN issue.

I have spent nearly 10 hours on the phone to Symantec and they have finally advised me that it is a known problem with Veritas Backup Exec 11d (which I am using) and RMAN and a hotfix has not yet been released.

Veritas Backup Exec 11d will not back up multiple tablespaces, (apparently).

If anyone could provide a solution to the problem I would be most grateful.

I am not an Oracle expert and my knowledge is at beginner level.

    Matt

Is it not a good idea to backup (using RMAN) the db on disk and later ask the Veritas to backup only the backup file system?

Altough it is commonly used by companies who do not want to buy oracle backup client software that can communicate to rman,It is not a good idea, mostly because of the disconnect betweem rman catalog and netbackup catalog and timing issues
One, who thinks that the other one who thinks that know and does not know, does not know either!
