    Oracle DataBase replication

    Hi,
We have 10 sites remote sites and one central site running Oracle,
to backup the remotes sites on the central, we dump the database,
compress it then tranfert it with ftp, the method is manual and not
    secured.
We are looking for a solution like incremental backup or replication to
transfert small quantities of data per file transfert to get all the sites
    backuped quickly.
Please advice on the best way or solution to achieve that goal.
    Thanks

Ok for RMAN, now the remote sites are far from the central
site and we are using Internet to transfert files, do you think
RMAN is suitable for that ? I would like to get more information
    about how it works.
    Thanks

    Hi

I would be looking at Oracle Streams for this kind of requirement rather then RMAN or any other backup solution.

Configuire streams on your central site and propogation and apply queues on the bespoke sites to receive changed data.

I am not sure internet is the best way to go about doing replication or for that matter transferring files backed up.

You need to spend some $$ to setup a dedicated network connecting all the sites

    regards
    Hrishy
