    How to rename a datafile in windows

    hi,

    I take the TBS offiline and when it try to rename the file at OS level, it says File is used by other program or user.

    D:\ORA\product\oradata\orcl>rename SYSAUX03.DBF SYSAUX01.DBF
    The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

    you will need to copy the file, cant move in windows while it is still open
