    Exclamation ORA-01119: error in creating database file '+dbdg'

    Hi,

    I have 10TB space left in dbdg (Diskgroup) even then when i am trying to add a datafile i am getting following error.

    ORA-01119: error in creating database file '+dbdg'
    ORA-17502: ksfdcre:4 Failed to create file +dbdg
    ORA-15041: diskgroup space
    exhausted
    ERROR:
    ORA-24338: statement handle not executed


    SP2-0625: Error printing variable "ret_summary"

    That one is taff. R u using 10.2.0.1?
    We had such case, so we patched the ASM to 10.2.0.3, then created a new group, moved the files there and dropped the old one. That fixed the problem (at least for now)
    You might try manual rebalance of the disk group, sometimes it helps.
    Also try just creating a new group and moving one of your files there, that will trigger a rebalance, which seems to be a bit different than the manual one.
    Also, avoid autoextensible files, there are some bugs around that. Extend by hand, as rare as possible
