    Incremental backup Doubt!

    Hi,

    In 10g is there any new feature to merge the incremental backups?

    ie :

    Monday - Level 0 (incremental) with tag level_0_mon
    Tuesday - Level 1 (incremental) with tag level_1_tue
    Wednesday - Level 1 (incremental) with tag level_1_wed

    In the above schedule, shall i merge the tuesday level backup with the monday level 0 backup and keep it as fullbackup upto tuesday ?

    I read it in oracle doc but i cant understand it clearly so asking. plz...

    You do not have to merge anything, any level 1 backup after Monday will be sufficient as long as you have level 0 backup secured.

    the whole point of the question was whether he can and the answer is yes and if you needed to it would save you a while heap of time on restoring!
