    Smile Server Hung Doing Full Import

    Hi All

    I'm doing import from Oracle 9i 32 bit to Oracle 10g 64 bits itanium. I starts import then server it seem hung mouse and keyboard are blocked it just only respond by ping.

    I just only can do force suhtdown and restart server, any idea? It is supportted? Does anybody know?.

    Is it creating indexes? That often looks like a hang from the user point of view.

    Thumbs up may be too late but

    If you get pong from server this means that the kernel did not hang.
    First thing I should do it to check the disk activity using the leds on the system. if the server is installed on a remote site then using ssh or rdp you can check the activity since depending on the server hardare config and imported data, you can get slow response from the server.
