using OID to store TNSNAMES entries?

SQLNET.ora now defaults with this entry:

NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (LDAP, TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT, ONAMES, HOSTNAME)

Does this mean that TNSNAMES can be resolved using Internet Directory? (LDAP)

    Has anyone done this?

Looks like a damn good place to start, Davey.
If I get anything working I'll post the results and any observations on here.

    Gracias

Anybody actually done this with TNSNAMES entries for Dbs < Ora8?

Does it cope with Oracle7.1.3? ( I have some legacy systems that can't be upgraded).
