Do you mean migrating a Ora9i single instance into a two nodes Ora10g RAC?

    Sure you can.

Can you afford some down time? how big is your database?

Having your data sitting in an external storage subsystem you can either upgrade it in place or migrate it.

My personal preference? migrate it. This way you are gonna have both your 9i and 10g versions alive all the time.

If you decide to pursue the migration path...

    1) Setup your 10g RAC environment
    2) Pre create your database
    3) Move data from 9i to 10g by exporting/importing it.
    4) Voila!

Documentation? tons of it. Just google it.

    I see...

What kind of "cluster" are we talking about here?

Are you referring to RAC or are you referring to an Active/Passive cluster?

Assuming you are talking about RAC, please check http://download-east.oracle.com/docs...00/migrate.htm
