Thread: OPS Hardware???

    Question

    I've got an OPS project coming up, and I'd like to know what sort of hardware everyone is using on the street. I'm really interested in disk arrays and what sort of experiences people have had with different ones. I've been eyeing the Sun A5200(we are a Solaris shop), but the boss is not a big fan of the price tag on the good'ol fibre channel though.

    Any sharing of your experiences would be most welcome.

    I have used a D1000 in a clustering project before (not OPS, though). With the A5xxx or D1000, however, you will be using software based RAID. You might want to look at Sun's T3 arrays. I've never used one, but they are supposed to be pretty hot as well.
